The idea to set up an NGO, African Dream Foundation (ADF 90), for the qualitative education and positive development of the African youth, was conceived by this committed human rights/pro-democracy activist in 1986. Worried by the persistent cases of failure by Nigerian students in the Senior School Certificate - SSCE (O' Level) English and Mathematics examinations, Bona Vee started FREE LECTURE CLASSES for students in these core subjects. The result? Practically all the students taught by Bona Vee scored high marks in both subjects in the 1986/1987 SSCE. Most of these students went on to Universities and Polytechnics and many have since become University lecturers, bankers, and administrators.

OBITUARY

We regret to announce the 'CALL TO GLORY' of one of our organization's founders and directors, Mrs. Josephine Y. Adebeshin - a.k.a. JYA (1916 - 2008), the matriarch of the family. She was a trained nurse who spent practically her entire working life as a nurse and later, as a Hostel Superintendent of nurses, at the famous Sacred Heart Catholic Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. A committed philanthropist, JYA dedicated her life to helping people in need, and in her later years, needy children, through African Dream Foundation (ADF 90), an NGO set up by the family for the qualitative education and positive development of the African child. JYA passed on to the Great Beyond on Monday evening, December 15, 2008 (10 days before what promised to be a smashing Christmas celebration!). She was aged... just 92 years! JYA was more than a mother to us... she was indeed our best friend! May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.

'Mama, we love you... but Jesus Christ loves you more! Goodnight, Mama... Goodnight... Goodnight'

SPECIAL NOTICE

The 'JOSEPHINE ADEBESHIN MEMORIAL GRANT FOR NURSES' is being set up in JYA's memory. Small funds will be made available to needy Nigerian student nurses from time to time for the purchase of essential Nursing books, equipment and study materials and also for examination fees. Further information will be released later.
